Follow the trail in Janáček’s footsteps from the comfort of a minibus
The trail includes locations where Janáček lived, composed, conducted, taught, heard the premieres of his compositions, strolled around and met up with his friends, etc. You can also visit his home on Smetanova ulice, where Janáček spent the last quarter of his life and composed all of his greatest works. You will be guided by the musicologist Jiří Zahrádka, the curator of the Leoš Janáček Archive. An audio-guide will be available for international visitors with commentary in either English or German.
Dates: Monday 14 November at 1.30pm and Sunday 20 November at 9.30am and 1.30pm.

Try the recipes of the Janáčeks’ housemaid
During the Janáček Brno festival, from 2 to 11 November you will be able to try the Maestro’s favourite recipes made by his housemaid, Marie Stejskalová, in some of Brno’s gastro spots. Janáček wrote nine operas and you can look forward to nine different delicacies. If you try them all and collect nine stickers, you can take part in a competition to win a copy of Marie’s Cookbook.

Win tickets and a t-shirt with Janáček!
Set out on the footsteps of Leoš Janáček with the Loxper mobile app and from 21 October until 6 November you can take part in a competition with prizes. The first 100 participants to finish the trail will receive a Janáček t-shirt and there will also be a prize draw which will feature more gifts as well as tickets to the Janáček Brno 2022 festival! The app is in Czech, English and German.

Listen to Janáček in the streets of Brno day and night
During the festival there will be sixteen places in Brno where you can meet Leoš Janáček with his dog Čipera, and after scanning the QR code on the Maestro’s jacket, you can listen to a musical extract. Enjoy a stroll with your mobile phone while listening to music including the wedding scene from the opera The Cunning Little Vixen, the fanfare from Sinfonietta or the overture to the opera The Makropulos Affair.
